Despite living in Tasmania for some years, I still have family and friends in what was and is the Balwyn school area. My AFS year (1962-3) in the US allowed me to retain other contacts and travels - their 50 year reunion in 2013. Despite all that, Balwyn HS and vicinity is where we grew up and remember!
After school I worked for BP in Melbourne and Hobart. Then I was a Teacher in Tasmania for some 40 years. I was Principal in 2 country schools and one city school. I loved it, having few regrets.
I’m sort of retired these days, not that such status really exists. I’m busy enough. My wife Judy remains a school Principal, working very close to home. We have a good life.
We travel a fair bit, within Australia, overseas and what not. With 5 grown up adult children (and their children) we are pretty well as busy and we wish to be.
My most recent journey was a demanding trek to Rinjarni in Lombok. I’m not sure what’s next!
